Christmas Market 2024

This year's Cheristmas Market, Grade 1s decided to go healthy by selling healthy juice with fresh fruits pulps. Grade 1s prepared and sold apple juice and orange juice in cups. Each cup has ice and fresh apple or orange pulps in it, and of course fresh juice. The students took turns in taking charge of the fruit juice shop by signing up for a 30-minute shift. They were diligent in doing their roles - being the cashier, adding fruit pupls and ice and pouring juice. They were also courteous and handed the customer's orders with a big smile and a warm Christmas spirit. The class was able to raise a generous amount of ¥17,787.92 in 2 hours!!! Job well done, Grade 1s!

What we know about the Journey of Food

This week, Grade 1s shared to the class what they know about the journey of food inside our body. They were able to mention parts such as mouth and stomach, and other auxilliary parts such as heart and lungs. They also were clear about the first step and the last step of the process. They have some ideas about what happens in the middle but was not able to articulate well the whole process. Thus this week, we started exploring the digestive system, its parts and the process of digestion. At the end of next week, we hope to hear them mention more related terms such as the other body parts and be clear about the steps in between the ones that happen in the mouth and the duodenum.

Thinking and Sorting Foods on the Right Plate

This week, Grade 1s worked together to think collaboratively and work on sorting the food on the right plate. Each group was given three plates. Plate number 1 is for food that we eat always. Plate number 2 is for food that we eat sometimes. The plate number 3 is for food that we have to consume the least.
